Changing Lives One Book At A Time
India
My children’s life-styled changed by a single book said Jyothi, a 37-year old married woman. She had been deeply concerned about her two young children growing in the Lord. She had been busy with work and wanted her children to grow spiritually. One day, on her way home, Jyothi met our literature team distributing spiritual, inspirational, and children’s books. She was happy and found a children’s book that she thought would be perfect for her children. The book was called “The Parable of the Lost Sheep” and it was beautifully illustrated with colorful pictures and easy-to understand language.
She brought the book home and read it to her children every night before they went to bed. The children were captivated by the story of the shepherd who left his 99 sheep to search for the one that was lost.
As days went by, she noticed that her children were asking more questions about Jesus. They wanted to know more about the parables and the stories of the Bible. She was delighted to see her children interested in learning about God and showing interest in faith and she wanted to nourish their curiosity. The following day, she took her children to our ministry where they are conducting Vacation Bible School nearby her place. The two children attended the VBS regularly and we saw a significant transformation in them. They grew in faith and it showed in their actions. The book has opened a new world of faith for my two young children and I am so grateful to Love Packages for having such a heart towards children’s spiritual growth. Jyothi is now an active member and has encouraged many people to get books from us and has led many children to walk with God.

By God’s grace the latest Love Packages container shipment arrived at our mission house in Cape Town. Upon offloading your treasure trove of Christian literature, many pastors, chaplains, teachers and evangelists have already come to us to load up with spiritual ammunition to fulfill the Great Commission. Thank you so very much for being a quartermaster store and armory for this spiritual warfare in Africa.
Thank you very much for your generous support. Your prayers and support enable us to continue to provide vital leadership training, literature and relief for pastors, teachers, chaplains, medics, missionaries and evangelists throughout Africa, as we serve persecuted Christians and pray for spiritual revival amongst some of the most neglected and needy people in the world. May God abundantly bless and reward you for your thoughtfulness and generosity. We praise God for the safe return of our Africa Overland Mission team from a four-month mission across Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique. Despite tremendous obstacles, logistical challenges and illness, including malaria and bilharzia, our mission team succeeded in delivering and distributing over 2 1/2 tons of Bibles and books and conducting over hundred meetings including leadership training courses, seminars, conferences, services, school assemblies and outreaches. Your literature is indispensable.

The photo we sent is a team of five women that work in the Hospital and Prisons as evangelists. They faithfully go every week, one week to the hospitals and the next week to the prisons. They have won over 350 souls. They serve in the missions team under us, and have come on board as volunteers. The Bibles were a great blessing indeed – they were so so happy to receive their own Bible. The five women would share one Bible. When we gave them all a Bible, each one said when do we have to return them to you. WE SAID IT IS YOURS TO KEEP FOR LIFE! My, my there was a dancing jubilation to own their very own Bible. They have a great passion for the sick and prison mates.
There were 3 prisoners who were on the verge of commiting suicide, but these women ministered to them and they gave their lives to Christ. Now these very same three prisoners are corresponding with a Bible school and want to become pastors. Their families attend church and their wives have joined the ladies in evangelism. What a powerful testimony. Thank you for the Bibles.
Congo
I want to thank you for the most precious and beautiful Study Bibles, thirty five in all, that we have received from you yesterday – to send to the Congo in Kinshasa for pastors that are studying and do not have their own Bibles. Please know that this is worth more than all the gold in this world. Also – thank you for the blue New Testament – 110 of them – which we will also be sending to the same Bible school for the students and teachers to use. Thank you also for your precious books. I started to read these books last night and will send them out to leaders in the African churches. They are filled with mighty and Holy information. They are full of precious information, and powerful like the rays of the sun. I am sure these books will have an enormous impact on Africa.

Thanks once again for the materials. The Lord is using them to touch lives. Our Ministry Training Center young pastors took our Sunday kids and our evangelism team to an outreach at a village 4 Km from here called Magenge. The kids and our trainees were the main ministers. The kids were given an opportunity to share their faith in Christ. Since we received the materials, we’ve been training several groups in evangelism including the kids. In the morning hours, they would evangelize to people one on one by the roadside or anywhere they could find people. Every group of about three kids had an adult watching over them. Then in the evening, they would sing, share memory verses, and pray for people after one of them had finished preaching. We had 76 documented decisions for Christ. At night, our Ministry Training Center for students would show the Jesus film and pray for people. We invited those who gave their lives to Christ to church and 6 people came on foot! Our team has been doing follow up, through calls & visits, but many people are challenged by the distance – it’s a bit far. They’ve asked us to plant a church there for them. We will be going there weekly for home fellowship.
The mission was very tough and there was very stiff opposition. The team set up a platform for evening open air evangelism. A man who owned a liquor store opposed them vehemently, threatening to burn or destroy it at night. He almost chased people away the first day. The area administrator tried to intervene but still he said the crusade is destroying his business. The following day, through prayers and persistence, the LORD touched his heart and he brought bottled drinking water from his liquor store and gave it to the team. Then he offered us his electricity for free! The team saw God at work in him, and it was like a dream. They couldn’t believe the same man who opposed them a day ago was supporting and sponsoring the Gospel: that’s the power of God at work.

People have different hobbies to spend their free time. Some are interested in reading, some in cooking, some in gardening etc. Then, there’s Mrs. V who was a Bank Manager by profession and lives with her loving family of four. She was blessed and having faith in Jesus Christ. Mrs.V is an enthusiast of stories. She reads stories of all sorts whenever she gets free time. One day she happened to pass through and decided to get some books from us. She went through several collections of stories and picked a handful. One of those was ‘Stories for a Faithful Heart’. Each story in the book has a message to the reader and the stories caught her interest. She went through them, one by one. But one story touched her deeply. The story is titled ‘Charlie’s Blanket’ It is about a kid from a poor family who sacrificed the blanket of her very dear baby doll for someone in need. The story is set in the U.S during the Christmas time. It gives the idea of compassion. It showed what Jesus came into this world for. It is all about sacrificial love, the very exact message Jesus Christ gives through his life as the Son of God, the Creator of all living beings. Mrs. V said to us that she came to realize that each person should have an open heart for others. She started to look into her life to see what she does for others. The introspection led her to the conclusion that apart from making her life comfortable, she wasn’t doing anything for the needy, nothing to transform the lives of those around her. That’s when she decided to sponsor children who required special care.
Mrs. V along with her husband initiated voluntary works to care for children with disabilities. This story of compassion made her go for a soul searching adventure which led her to transform the lives of those in need. She personally expressed her joy in finding the book to read and she extended her gratitude to the team of Love Packages for donating this precious book “that changed her life.” “I cannot find the words to express how I felt when I found this book here. I can see how brilliantly God acted in my life and how He changed me to bring help to others,” said Mrs. V with a big smile.

How are you? I am Pastor Madamombe. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart. The books, commentaries, Cds and Bibles that were donated by Love Packages are making a big difference in many people’s lives in our church. Many youngsters, youth, and young couples had no Bibles or anything to read to edify themselves spiritually. But now they are busy most of the time searching these books for the knowledge about God. I pray that the spirit will continue and help them to mature in Christ.
Nigeria
The Lord connected us with ministries and churches in three Northern States where we have 90% Muslims. It has been very difficult getting those materials into this Muslim stronghold. Recently when we were smuggling the Bibles in, a Muslim policeman arrested us. He questioned us for quite some time. Then when we opened one of the boxes, he saw a Bible with a caption, “Why He Loves You”, he picked it up and started reading it, we were with him there for another three hours and all of a sudden, he started crying and asked us to pray for him which we did and he accepted Jesus into his life. Now he is using the police vehicle to escort us into the towns where we need to distribute the materials. As of now he is helping us a lot in smuggling materials in.
Malawi
I am a head teacher of Rockland’s Private School in Malawi. I would like to thank God for the Bible distribution and preaching that took place at our School. We got a donation of 120 Bibles for students, and after the distribution students began to come for student union prayers every lunch hour and many of the stubborn students have changed completely. Discipline has been restored at school which I believe will also change the performance of the students. One noted testimony is of the salvation of five students who were causing very many problems at the school. Their parents were informed but confessed that there is nothing they can do. They were also tired of them. On a day the Bibles were distributed the Pastor talked on things that will kill your Destiny and these boys confessed Jesus after realizing that they are killing their destinies. What a difference in their lives. We are hopeful that we will be able to get more Bibles in the future as we still have more students who do not have Bibles.
Namibia
Thank you for the many Bibles you sent, as well as the tons of children’s material. All has been sent to Lesotho, Mozambique, and Namibia for distribution to the rural churches. The need for Bibles is ever increasing. People are hungry for the word of God. I just got back from Namibia where I met with over 150 pastors. It was a great pleasure to bless each pastor with a Bible of their own and some study guides. Most of these pastors were from the village churches and had almost nothing. There is a great hunger for the word. Thank you for being obedient to help fill that hunger.

Wow! Things are going so great with the literature, it is just so amazing the reaction from the people, students, teachers, and principles. So far I am delivering to one or two schools a day, both morning and afternoon shifts. It all depends if it is a big school then I can only cover one a day in the morning or afternoon. Also, with the churches I will say 60% percent of the literature has already been distributed to different churches and some of the pastors come to the school where the material is at and take enough for their members. They are all so thankful and said that they have been praying for something like this to happen because they tried so many times to get some tracks but were still waiting. Now they got them with this shipment and are so happy. With the English Bibles I am all out and so far I have only covered the schools. I am receiving calls asking if I have any more of them. The churches need some also in Spanish. Still another need to get covered, the kids are asking or saying please, that if they can get one for their mother because she goes to church and needs one. It is very hard for me to say, I don’t have any more but trust I will have some more in the future.
